The City of Concord operates under a Council/Manager form of government, whereby the City Manager serves as the chief executive officer.  As New Hampshire's capital city and municipality, we provide services to the areas of Concord and Penacook that include public safety, human services, water and wastewater management, road maintenance and construction, parks and recreation, library services, and much more. The Human Resources Department works as a team to provide effective service and vital information to employees, retirees, and the public with compassion, dignity, and respect in a fair and equitable manner.  Serving as a central source, our goal is to foster an environment for employees to succeed, develop, and enhance their careers with equal opportunity for all.  With positions ranging from law enforcement and fire protection, public works, engineering, and administrative, we feel we have something for everyone.  The City of Concord believes a workplace that creates a culture of inclusion and equity will allow that organization to service its citizenry more creatively, efficiently, and productively.  A successful inclusion and diversity program will ensure these objectives, goals, and priorities are maintained.  We focus efforts on recruiting, retaining, and training those who have served our country to continue with a career that has purpose and serves others.
